Deputy Trini Gonzalez Arrested for Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

A Minnehaha County deputy sheriff was arrested Wednesday morning after Sioux Falls police say he hit his ex-girlfriend in the head.

The two apparently got into an argument about 6 p.m. at the woman's home on South Marion Road when the deputy struck her with his hand, Sioux Falls Police Lt. Dan Kaiser said. Trini Gonzalez, 41, was arrested on charges of simple assault but released from jail that evening.

"Any time we see there's an injury and there's a report of an injury, there's an arrest made, and that's what happened in this case," Kaiser said.

The woman had a red mark on her head but required no medical attention, he said.

Gonzalez initially called police to the home, Kaiser said.

"He reported that she was disorderly and damaged his truck," he said.

Gonzalez is a 13-year veteran with the sheriff's office and is assigned to the patrol division, Minnehaha County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Niedringhaus said.

"Deputy Gonzalez will be suspended without pay pending an internal investigation," Niedringhaus said.

Gonzalez will appear in court Oct. 16.

This site rules!! putting names and stories of cops and other law people and the info. Cause we all know people like this Trini Gonzales has never arrested a husband assaulting his wife or kids, or taken a drunk off the road before he killed someone, or fought with a meth addict and gotten hurt or done literally thousands of other things to improve the safety of the public he "Serves and protects" and what is even more amazing is that this is posted before any real facts are known, like a day later when it comes out that both were probably intoxicated and she hit her dead while she was goin off like a crazy bitch and knew in his profession that even a little tap on the head could cost him his 13 year career of serving and protecting

You might want to get your facts straight before you sit and ruin ones reputation. Ever notice in your little story that he was the one to report the incident?

Here is more about this: I worked with her and she is a total nutcase. They had a brief and short relationship, a child was the result. The child is 5 or 6 now and the relationship was over before he was born. Yet she continued to pine for him since then. What they don't tell you is that she has, at other times, damaged his home and stalked him. Another cheery nuget: She also works for the sheriff's office. She was in uniform the day of this event. She was intentionally damaged his truck after he had told her that he would seek legal assistance for his rights concerning the child. No chargs against her at all for this or for her making other allegations in the past, that were investigated and proven unfounded. Yep, bad cop--HER! Get your facts straight! She is the real problem...a psycho who works for the Minnehaha County Sheriff.

Charges were dropped because he wouldn't plead to any reduced charges and they did not have enough evidence to prove assault. She was never charged with vandalism either.
