There's been another twist in the story of the former Madera sheriff's deputy who had been accused of sexually molesting his own wife.
Months ago, former deputy Jerry Saldivar's wife accused him of sexually assaulting her.
But the Fresno County District Attorney's office eventually dropped the charges against Saldivar, after his wife allegedly smashed her way into the house where he was staying and assaulted him.
She was then charged with assault and residential burglary, allegations that could have put her behind bars for 18 months.
Now, she has agreed to plead no contest to lesser charges.
And instead of jail, she faces probation, and she'll have to attend anger management classes.
Jerry Saldivar no longer works for the Madera sheriff's department.

Officer Brian Ditmore Shoots Brother-in-law Then Turns Gun on Himself
An off-duty policeman shot his brother-in-law Thanksgiving Day and then turned the gun on himself, authorities say.
Members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol's tactical team late Thursday found Mangum police officer Brian Ditmore dead inside his home in the 900 block of W Tyler, said Jessica Brown, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman.

Brown said it appears Ditmore, 37, shot himself in the chest after wounding his brother-in-law, Mangum Fire Chief Fred Willis, 41. The investigation is ongoing, she said.
About 2:30 p.m. someone in the home reported a domestic dispute between Ditmore and his wife. Police responded, along with Willis who lives nearby, Brown said.
"When police arrived Mr. Willis was stumbling out of the house, injured from a gunshot wound to the stomach," Brown said.
"A few minutes later there was a single gunshot from inside the house."
Brown said officers tried for several hours to communicate with Ditmore. They later sent an OHP robot into home and determined it was safe to enter, she said.
Willis was listed in fair condition Friday after getting surgery at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.

Officer Donald Greer Arrested on Weapons Charge
A veteran Stamford police officer was arrested Tuesday by the Chief State's Attorney's Office on weapons charges related to pending criminal charges from a domestic dispute.
Donald Greer, 46, of Stratford, was charged with one count of illegally transferring a pistol or revolver, a felony that carries a maximum prison term of five years, the Chief State's Attorney's Office said in a statement.
Greer was arrested by Stamford police in March on threatening and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a domestic dispute. He was a police officer at the Stamford Police Department for 24 years before being arrested in March.
The department suspended Greer, and he turned in his badge and gun. He was put on administrative leave pending the domestic dispute charges.
John Whalen, an assistant state's attorney who works in the Statewide Prosecution Bureau, said investigators learned about the alleged firearms violations while looking into the domestic dispute.
In February 2007, Greer allegedly transferred a pistol to an acquaintance for their protection, the Chief State's Attorney's Office said in a statement. A warrant says the transfer was illegal because Greer did not submit the proper written statement to the State Police Special Firearms and Licensing Unit before the transfer.
Whalen would not offer more details about the arrest or how it was related to the domestic dispute.
Greer was arrested Tuesday by an inspector from the Chief State's Attorney's Office at state Superior Court in Stamford. He was released on a promise to appear in court and will be arraigned July 28.
Prosecutors from the Statewide Prosecution Bureau at the Chief State's Attorney's Office will handle the case, the office said in a statement.
Stamford Police Lt. Sean Cooney, a department spokesman, said Greer will remain on paid leave pending the outcome of the criminal charges against him.
An internal police investigation will follow once the court case gets resolved, he said.

Deputy Angie Clark Accused of Killing Husband
An off-duty Lee County sheriff's deputy is on paid administrative leave Thursday night after investigators say she fatally shot her estranged husband at their home in Broadway.
Harnett County deputies responded to the home of Michael and Angie Clark at 8 Bee Hive Lane at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday after a report of a shooting there.
Michael Clark, 44, died at the scene, deputies said.

Retired Officer Cecil Ramsay Shoots Other Officer then Himself
A retired New York City police officer shot an off-duty officer he suspected was having an affair with his police officer wife, then killed himself in the driveway of his suburban home, authorities said Saturday. Cecil Ramsay confronted his wife and a friend, both off-duty New York Police Department officers, when the pair arrived at the family's home Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.
He accused Officer Edwin Chittick "of seeing his wife," Dady Belfort, said Suffolk County police Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick.
"It's our understanding that that is not the case. They're just acquaintances," Fitzpatrick said.
Chittick told Ramsay "in effect, 'I'm not here to have an argument with you,' and walks out," getting into Belfort's sport utility vehicle with her, Fitzpatrick said. Ramsay fired at least three times at the departing SUV, hitting Chittick in the hand.
He then put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger in front of several construction workers doing work on his home, Fitzpatrick said. Other family members had also been at the home with him at the time of his wife's arrival, police said.
Chestean Howard said he called 911 after hearing several gunshots in the neighborhood, then looked out his window.
"He wasn't moving," Howard told Newsday Saturday. "I thought, 'That's it. He's dead.'"
Belfort, who was not injured, drove a short distance to a hospital emergency room, where Chittick was treated for wounds that were not life-threatening.
The SUV - its front passenger-side window shattered and driver and passenger seats smeared with blood - was on the grounds of the hospital for several hours Saturday.
Outside the home about 40 miles east of New York City, a body covered by a yellow tarp lay in the driveway for hours Saturday morning under a steady rain before it was removed on a gurney.
Ramsay, 51, had been ill with heart problems and was awaiting a heart transplant, Fitzpatrick said.
A 2007 article about Belfort in the Congressional Record said she has been an officer since 1989 and was promoted to detective in 2005. She was pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice at the time and has three children with Ramsay, according to the profile.
New York City police wouldn't comment on the shootings or give information about the officers, referring all questions to Long Island authorities.

Officer Kyle Hunter Arrested for Stealing Girlfriend's Car
Another schenectady police officer has been arrested. He's accused of stealing his girlfriend's car.
Police Chief Mark Chaires says patrolman Kyle Hunter has been charged.
According to Chaires, officers went to check out a domestic dispute allegation last night around quarter to six, when a woman's BMW had been taken.
Chaires says Hunter was located around 11:30 and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
He spent the night in jail and was suspended without pay for 30 days.
Chaires says Hunter joined the force in 2001--and he did say there is "a previous administrative history" with Hunter.
Hunter's arrest brings the total number of Schenectady cops in trouble to eight.
