Officer Arnold Ford Arrested for Domestic Violence

A Baltimore City Police officer was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say he got into a physical argument with his wife, sending her to the hospital.

The officer, identified as 44-year-old Arnold Ford, was arrested at around 2 p.m. in the area of the 3800-block of Grantley Street in Northwest Baltimore.

The victim, who is not being named by police, is also a Baltimore City Police officer. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries to her hand.

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened, says Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the police department. Right now it is unclear who started the argument and what it was about.

Ford has been with the department since March of 2007. He has been suspended pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Officer Ford and his wife was were separated and living in separate homes during the time of this incident. Officer Arnold Ford was actually assaulted by Lieutenant Sonia Ford. Sonia Ford was the lieutenant of the Northwest district where the incident occured and Officer Arnold Ford was arrested. Lt. Sonia Ford was upset because officer Arnold Ford had moved on with his life and a divorce was filed. He was only going to the house to pick up tickets from her aunt for his daughters recital. Lt. Sonia Ford came to the door instead fussing and the began to assault Officer Arnold Ford as he walked away. She even stole his phone and kicked a dent in the door of the vehicled he was driving. Since the incident Sonia Ford retired early to to avoid going to the trial board due to knowing she would have immediately been fired. Officer Arnold Ford is still a officer in good standing with the police department.
