A Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Detective who was arrested over the weekend on drunk driving charges is back on the job pending an internal affairs investigation.
Detective Marcus Lemaire was stopped Sunday Night after a State Trooper reportedly noticed he was swerving on Highway 167 South of the Mall of Acadiana.
Detective Lemaire, who was off duty at the time, reportedly refused the field sobriety test and was charged with DWI.
Lemaire has enjoyed a spotless reputation. In fact in April of last year Lamaire was named Deputy of the Year at the annual Crime Stoppers banquet.
