Officer Erick Supplee Arrested for Failure to Obey

An off-duty Bend police officer was arrested in Pullman, Wash., over the weekend on a charge of failure to obey an officer, Bend's police chief confirmed Monday afternoon.

Erick Supplee, 32, was arrested early Saturday morning and taken to the Pullman city jail on the misdemeanor charge, then released on his own recognizance, a police officer said.

An officer said he was on foot patrol on College Hill when he saw a man driving the wrong way on Ruby Street. The officer says he approached the vehicle and yelled at the man to stop, at which times he allegedly sped off.

Other police patrol cars stopped the driver minutes later, a few blocks away.

Officers say Supplee smelled of alcohol but noted he did not appear intoxicated. Supplee refused to take a Breathalyzer or field sobriety test, they said.

Bend Interim Police Chief Sandi Baxter said Supplee has been on the force for just over 5 ½ years.

"He is continuing to work," she said. "There are two different processes. One is a criminal investigation. That is to be completed up there (in Pullman). We are initiating an internal affairs investigation."

"We are not making any pre-judgments here," Baxter said, noting they were in the "initial stages of investigation" regarding the incident.

This same officer shot and killed a burglary suspect in the back yard of a home here in Bend . He should have been fired. He thinks he's above the law (Narcissistic personality disorder??) and getting off for the 2008 incident proves that he was/is above the law. Back in 1983, a Fountain Valley, CA police reserve was working on New Year's Eve with another "real" officer. They responded to a man in a backyard call (burglary suspect), and the reserve officer had three weapons that he was not supposed to have. He chased the suspect on foot, tackled him, then shot the unarmed man six times. A $20 million dollar lawsuit was filed against the City of Fountain Valley for excessive force. The suspect was unarmed, the officer lied and said the suspect tried to kill him. The city quickly put the reserve into the academy, and got him through the process and hired him as a full time officer. The suspect escaped from the Orange County Jail after having death threats made against him by several officers. The new officer was given a "Medal of Valor" for handling the suspect the way he did, because he got a "career criminal" off the streets. Years passed, and the officer was put in charge of the police officers fund, where he helped himself to about $40K of his co-workers money. He was fired and put under house arrest, awaiting trial for embezzlement when he was shot and killed by the FBI in Mission Viejo. He tried to escape from the FBI when they tried to arrest him for robbing over 12 banks in southern California. Officer Kevin Arnold should have never been an officer. They said he was depressed because his K-9 dog had died... A police psychiatrist said he had a narcissistic personality disorder.
